Gift Certificate Functionality

Hello,

I'm looking to upgrade to Konakart 5 in order to use the gift certificate functionality.

I have one question:

How does konakart handle left over balances of gift certificates?

For example, if a customer received a $100 gift certificate, but only used $75 worth in an order, what happens to the remaining $25.  Does konakart handle that out of the box, or is some sort of customization required for this?

Gift Certificates are an Enterprise Feature so you won't find them in the community version of KK 5.0. http://www.konakart.com/product/community-or-enterprise

The gift certificates work like a promotion where they give you a discount equivalent to the value of the certificate or they can be used to activate any sort of promotion which can be applied only to certain types of products by setting rules on the promotion. There is no left over balance.

KK also supports Reward Points which can be spent a bit at a time and the customer can see a statement similar to a bank statement of points awarded and redeemed.
