SKU Functionality and how to add product options through import

Hi

I would be pleased to hear somebody explaining the SKU functionality.
Any related documents are also good enough.

How do we add options to products while importing products using the import tool.

Hi Sadau,

There is some information about this in the online help of the Admin App but here is a summary anyway:

Each product can be given an SKU. However, if the product has many options; for example a shirt that may come in different colors and different sizes, you may want a unique SKU for each variation and different quantities for each variation. In order to set the SKUs you must do the following using the Admin App:

• Insert or edit an existing product.


• Click on the Attributes tab and add attributes to your product (e.g. Size of large and small, color of blue and red)


• Once these attributes have been saved, click on the Quantities tab and you will see a matrix that allows you to enter an SKU and quantity for each combination ( 4 combinations in the above example).

Give that a go and let me know if it works for you.

The import tool doesn't support options at the moment, so they must be added after the import using the Admin App or maybe using the API.
