The Enterprise version of KK supports Bookable Products http://www.konakart.com/docs/BookableProducts.html . You can define an event  and keep track of the number of bookings made for that event. There is even logic to stop someone booking overlapping events.

Alternatively, a simpler implementation is to just define ticket products and define a maximum number that can be sold http://www.indianstage.in .
