How To Remove Shipping ?

My products are not physical items, and there will be no notion of shipping in my store.  How do I remove the shipping feature entirely?

Install (using the admin app) the digital download shipping module, select it in your code but never display it so that the customer can see it. Uninstall the shipping order total module.
