Any idea what might be wrong? Is this a problem of the community edition and might be resolved with the enterprise edition?

Thanks

rather than step from one configuration problem to the next, why don't you install using the graphical installer and have the installer configure things correctly for you?

Because I have to install KonaKart on a server via the command line with PostgreSQL and a specific Tomcat Version. I assume that for this scenario the graphical installer does not help much or is there another tool by KonaKart for such situations?

Also it's important that we understand KonaKart as much as possible in order to be able to rely on.

If we are not able to control the environment, then unfortunately it won't work for us in the long term.

It seems to me that KonaKart has a very good architecture and setup compared with other eCommerce solutions, but it could be even better, e.g.

- Port and hostnames should be configurable at a central location
- KonaKart could provide an embedded Database like for example HSQLDB
- More generic: A data abstraction API should be introduced, like for example JCR (Java Content Repository API)

Re my original post: Any pointer why the org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.jdbc cannot be found would be much appreciated.

Thanks

You can use the silent installation option (see the User Guide).

The User Guide is packed full of useful information about how to set up and configure KonaKart

My advice is to get it working from the automated installer.  Once you have done that and you know your configuration is correct you can create the WARs or just move the webapps to other app servers.

If you really want to install it manually, ensure you read the User Guide for the steps you have to take to configure it correctly.

I have done the silent install (on Debian Linux) and this has fixed the issue.

But I have also read the User Guide manual install instructions once more and I did not notice anything which I have missed, hence it seems to me the silent install does something which is missing from the manual install.

Also if I want to use a different port it does not say that one needs to update the database data accordingly.
I think it would be important to mention this within the User Guide.

Also it is not clear to me if the silent install does support Mac OS X, whereas to be fair I have not tried.
But I think this should also made more clear within the documentation.

I will try to figure out now what is missing from the manual install and start integrating the shopping cart into the Yanel CMS.

Thanks

One thing that the installer does is to move some duplicated jars around - this is done to reduce the size of the installers.

You can see what this does by looking at the ant build file called custom/deploymentBuild.xml

This might give you some clues.
